Lynn Haugen, RN

Lynn Haugen has over three decades of leadership experience in seniors’ health, continuing care, and healthcare operations. Her career spans clinical roles to executive leadership, culminating in her position as Executive Director of Care. There, she led interdisciplinary teams across multiple sites, managed multi-million-dollar budgets, and oversaw complex accreditation processes, all while emphasizing regulatory compliance, successfully oversaw complex accreditation processes. Her work consistently emphasized regulatory compliance, strategic planning, workforce engagement, teambuilding, leadership development, and the delivery of compassionate, patient-centered care.

Lynn is committed to quality improvement and organizational optimization, serving as a trusted advisor in clinical technology implementation and change management. Her experience with EMR systems and crisis communication, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, showcases her ability to maintain service excellence under pressure.

With a strong understanding of Alberta’s healthcare ecosystem, Lynn collaborates with Alberta Health and provincial care associations to promote systemic improvement and innovation. She brings practical leadership, regulatory insight, and strategic foresight to drive policy alignment and service excellence in senior-focused healthcare.

Kara Straub Rivest, BScOT

Kara M. Straub is an experienced occupational therapist with over 20 years in pediatric and senior care. As Program Manager of Rehabilitation, she leads interdisciplinary teams to deliver effective services for complex and age-related conditions. Kara excels in program development, stakeholder engagement, and staff supervision, particularly in CARF-accredited settings.

Her foundation in pediatric occupational therapy includes roles at Vancouver Coastal Health and the Society for Treatment of Autism, where she demonstrated expertise in evidence-based treatment and clinical supervision. At the Centre for Autism Services Alberta, she led multi-disciplinary teams and implemented lifespan occupational therapy programs.

Kara’s collaborative and ethical leadership style is complemented by her commitment to ongoing professional development, covering topics from conflict resolution to family-centered care. As a lecturer and public educator, her strategic mindset enables her to drive transformative outcomes in healthcare systems.

Raman Thind, RN

Raman Thind is a seasoned healthcare leader with over a decade of experience in long-term care, supportive living, and complex care. She has advanced from direct care nurse to Director of Care, showcasing her skills in managing multi-site operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting resident-centered care.

Raman holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and has obtained various certifications that enhance her clinical expertise in elder care, including specialized training in palliative care and behavioral health. Her diverse qualifications, combined with frontline nursing experience and management roles, provide her with a well-rounded perspective on both clinical and operational aspects of healthcare.

Raman excels in operational planning, budget management, and collaborative leadership. She has optimized resources, improved care workflows with digital tools like Strata Pathway and PointClickCare, and fostered strong partnerships with families and care teams.
